I am a Parent Governor at QEGS.<br /><br />I am the Managing Director of an Education and Professional Development Consultancy based in Lincolnshire and Executive Director of the Charterhouse Group of Therapeutic Communities in Great Britain and Ireland.<br /><br />Until April 2005, I was the Chief Executive of a national resource for children and young peoples with behaviour difficulties, prior to which I was a Headteacher in 2 Special Schools. I have lectured and presented at a number of conferences and meetings on behaviour and Autism.<br /><br />Until June 2006 I was General Secretary of the Social Emotional and Behaviour Difficulties Association (SEBDA) in Great Britain.<br /><br />I have been responsible for the development and fundraising for a number of charitable projects including work for Children in Need .<br /><br />In my spare time, I play guitar in a traditional jazz band and sail my Norfolk Oyster.<br /><br />Honours: O.B.E.<br />Awarded - June 2005<br /><br />Accolade:<br /><br />Services to Special Educational Needs in Scotland including Fundraising for Charitable Sector. I also keep, breed and drive miniature donkeys.<br /><br />A governor’s role is as a ‘critical friend’ which I see as supporting the school wholeheartedly, whilst maintaining a questioning outlook. I am also involved in import inspections for certain quarantine pests and diseases, and dealing with the eradication  of non indigenous plant pests and diseases.<br /><br />My wife and I have four adult children, who have all been educated at QEGS, and  have subsequently obtained good degrees at University leading to gainful employment.<br /><br />My wife is a peripatetic Woodwind Teacher, who works part time at QEGS, and two other local schools.<br /><br />My interests include Education, Classic and Vintage motor cars, Gardening ,and Wildlife and the Countryside.</td>  </tr></table>'
