Curriculum - Online

As part of our commitment to the use of ICT throughout subjects we have created an online curriculum. This gives pupils access to a whole world of learning 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The system complements teaching in the classroom and there is a unit for each topic taught in Y7. These units give information about what the pupils will learn, how they will learn and access to a wide variety of resources. The curriculum is brought alive using a rich media interface; the use of video and sound clips gives pupils access to extension material to develop their understanding further. The online curriculum is accessed via the school intranet by the use of their username and password, which gives each pupil a personalised learning environment.

Along with being able to access content which is specific to the units they are studying, pupils can also access their own personal documents and e-mails from home. All new pupils receive a CD-Rom containing programs and plug-ins that enable them to carry on with their schoolwork on a home computer. These are distributed at the start of Y7.
